Job Overview – Senior Human Resources Manager
Compensation: $125,000–$135,000/year + Bonus
Location: Memphis, TN
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Onsite)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Human Resources Manager in Memphis, TN for our client. This hands-on leadership role oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, and day-to-day human resources operations across multiple business locations. Working closely with leadership, the Senior Human Resources Manager will support workforce planning, coach managers, drive employee engagement initiatives, and help strengthen HR programs and processes. The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, enjoys partnering with operational leaders, and is comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR responsibilities.
Responsibilities as the Senior Human Resources Manager:
- HR Business Partnership: Serve as the primary Human Resources partner for regional operations, advising leaders on workforce planning, employee relations, organizational development, and HR strategy.
- Talent Acquisition: Lead full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions, partner with hiring managers on staffing strategies, manage candidate selection, and ensure an exceptional onboarding experience.
- Employee Relations: Manage complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, corrective action plans, and terminations while providing coaching to managers.
- Compliance & Policy Administration: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, administer company policies, support leave management and accommodations, and maintain accurate HR documentation.
- Leadership Support: Partner with operational leaders on organizational changes, workforce planning, compensation planning, employee engagement, retention initiatives, and management training.
- Process Improvement: Monitor HR metrics, identify organizational trends, recommend process improvements, and implement programs that enhance operational effectiveness and employee experience.
Qualifications for the Senior Human Resources Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience is required, including at least 3 years supporting multiple locations or regional operations.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in recruiting, employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and employment law compliance is required. Experience supporting logistics, transportation, manufacturing, industrial, or other operational environments is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, recruiting, employee relations, conflict resolution, investigative, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, influence leaders across all levels of the organization, solve complex workplace challenges, thrive in a fast-paced operational environment, and travel approximately 20% within the assigned region.
