Compensation: $170,000 – $190,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Estimator (Complex Commercial Projects) for our client in Chester County, PA (Hybrid). In this leadership role, you’ll manage full-cycle estimating for large-scale commercial projects in life sciences, pharma, healthcare, higher education, and infrastructure. You’ll lead cost estimating, bid package development, and subcontractor coordination, with a strong focus on electrical and MEP scopes. Ideal candidates have a background in general contracting or electrical contracting with deep experience in complex commercial construction.

Responsibilities as the Senior Estimator:

  • Full-Cycle Estimating: Lead detailed estimates from concept through final bid, including takeoffs, labor, and GMP submissions.
  • Electrical & MEP Focus: Manage electrical scopes, working with engineers and subs to ensure accurate system pricing.
  • Bid Strategy & Analysis: Develop competitive bid strategies, analyze scope gaps, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Subcontractor & Client Coordination: Oversee subcontractor proposals and communicate estimates with internal teams and clients.
  • Cost Tracking & Collaboration: Maintain cost benchmarks and partner with project teams to align bids with client goals.

Qualifications for the Senior Estimator:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of estimating experience on complex commercial projects, with a focus on electrical and MEP scopes across life sciences, healthcare, higher education, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in estimation software such as Accubid, Sage Estimating, or PlanSwift, with advanced Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of electrical contracting or GC experience with MEP-intensive bids, including understanding of bid logistics, labor rates, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strategic thinker with strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage deadlines, mentor junior staff, and drive excellence across the estimating function.
