Our client is hiring a Senior Corporate Counsel in New York, NY (Hybrid) to lead contract negotiations, manage global compliance programs, and support litigation and regulatory matters. This role is ideal for experienced legal professionals with a background in contract law, risk management, and cross-functional legal strategy. Proficiency in DocuSign, ContractWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite is essential in this dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities as the Senior Corporate Counsel:

  • Legal Advisory & Risk Management: Provide day-to-day legal guidance on operations, compliance, and risk mitigation across the organization.
  • Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate client, vendor, and service agreements while managing contract workflows.
  • Compliance & Policy Development: Support the creation and implementation of global compliance programs, policies, and training initiatives.
  • Regulatory Research & Litigation Support: Conduct legal research, advise on regulatory changes, and assist with litigation and legal holds.
  • Cross-Functional & External Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to resolve legal issues and improve processes.
  • Strategic Projects & Governance: Contribute to legal strategy, support special projects, and enhance governance through oversight activities.

Qualifications for the Senior Corporate Counsel:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • Licensure: Active admission to the New York State Bar is required.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of legal experience gained in-house or at a law firm, ideally within consulting, financial services, or professional services environments.
  • Industry Knowledge: Proven global legal experience and familiarity with post-merger integration, cross-border compliance, and risk management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in DocuSign, ContractWorks (or similar contract platforms), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Skills & Attributes: Analytical, detail-oriented, and clear communicator with strong judgment and the ability to manage complex legal issues independently or in teams.
