Job Overview – Sales Manager (Business Development):
Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year + bonus
Location: Union County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Sales Manager (Business Development) in Union County, NJ, to lead sales strategy, team development, and revenue growth with our client. You will mentor sales representatives, drive strategic execution, and manage high-value opportunities while analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity. Ideal candidates are experienced sales leaders with CRM expertise, technical product knowledge, and a proven track record of exceeding targets through strong client relationships.
Responsibilities as the Sales Manager (Business Development):
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of sales representatives to drive performance and growth.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales plans and action steps to achieve revenue and business development goals.
- KPI Management: Set, track, and assess KPIs to measure individual and team success.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing coaching, training, and feedback on sales techniques and product knowledge.
- Market Insights: Analyze customer needs, competitor activity, and industry trends to refine strategies.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain long-term client relationships through consultative, solutions-based selling.
Qualifications for the Sales Manager (Business Development):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive sales experience with leadership responsibilities, and prior technical or industrial product sales experience strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and sales tools, with strong understanding of sales performance metrics.
- Industry Knowledge: Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, with preferred knowledge of fluid system components.
- Skills & Attributes: Proven leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with success in exceeding sales targets, closing high-value deals, problem-solving, and team collaboration.
