Job Overview – Plant Manager (Manufacturing Operations)
Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year + bonus
Location: Western Massachusetts or Vermont (On-site)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Plant Manager (Manufacturing Operations) in Western Massachusetts or Vermont for our client, supporting the launch, optimization, and leadership of a prefabrication manufacturing facility. This role requires relocation for candidates not currently local. In this role, you will oversee plant operations, establish scalable production workflows, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing lines while leveraging CNC equipment and manufacturing systems to improve throughput, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities as the Plant Manager (Manufacturing Operations):
- Plant Launch & Operations: Lead the setup, commissioning, and ongoing operations of the manufacturing facility to ensure a successful production ramp-up.
- Process Optimization & Efficiency: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce waste, and enhance operational performance.
- Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operations team while promoting a culture of accountability and safety.
- Production Workflow Development: Establish and optimize production workflows to ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Manufacturing Strategy & Growth: Support long-term operational strategy and capacity planning to enable growth and expansion.
Qualifications for the Plant Manager (Manufacturing Operations):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years of manufacturing or plant operations experience, including leadership responsibility within production, process improvement, or industrial operations environments.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in prefabrication, modular construction, building products, or similar manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, production workflows, and equipment such as CNC machinery is preferred, along with proficiency in Excel and operational reporting tools.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to operate strategically while driving hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
