Job Overview – Payroll & HR Specialist (Part-Time):
Compensation: $40,000 – $45,000/year
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Part-Time, 20 hours per week)

Our client is hiring a part-time Payroll & HR Specialist in Boston, MA to manage bi-weekly payroll, benefit reconciliation, and HR support functions. This role requires experience with Paycom, multi-state payroll, and strong attention to detail. You’ll collaborate with finance and HR teams to ensure payroll accuracy, maintain compliance, and assist employees with benefit and policy inquiries.

Responsibilities as the Payroll & HR Specialist:

  • Payroll Administration: Process bi-weekly payroll in Paycom, review previews, and manage off-cycle payments and manual checks.
  • Benefits & Reconciliation: Reconcile benefit calculations and invoices, ensuring accuracy across Paycom and external providers.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Prepare quarterly reports, support audits, and respond to unemployment claims and wage garnishments.
  • System & Data Management: Maintain payroll codes, generate ad-hoc reports, and assist with Paycom enhancements.
  • Employee & HR Support: Assist with benefit questions, accruals, handbook policies, open enrollment, and basic IT access needs.

Qualifications for the Payroll & HR Specialist:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years in payroll administration and HR support, with required experience using Paycom and managing multi-state payroll.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Paycom and Microsoft Excel, with preferred familiarity with benefit platforms and payroll reporting tools.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and analytical, with excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
