Job Overview – Paralegal (Hedge Funds):
Join our hedge fund client as a Paralegal in New York, NY. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with experience in investment advisory compliance, corporate governance, and financial transactions. You will support legal operations across hedge fund transactions, entity formation, regulatory filings, and documentation management, working closely with attorneys and compliance teams.

Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year base ($120,000 – $130,000 All-In)
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Paralegal (Hedge Funds):

  • Legal Document Review: Review and comment on non-disclosure agreements, investment agreements, and governance documents.
  • Transaction Support: Assist with corporate transactions, including document execution, signature page preparation, and closing room organization.
  • Entity Formation & Governance: Prepare and maintain LLC, corporation, and partnership formation documents, board resolutions, and tax forms.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Track deadlines for legal reviews, negotiations, and hedge fund transactions.
  • Document Drafting & Management: Draft, proofread, redline, and organize legal filings with precision.
  • Account & Compliance Support: Manage bank and securities account documentation while assisting with legal research and compliance tracking.

Qualifications for the Paralegal (Hedge Funds):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Finance, Business, or a related field required (Paralegal certification is a plus).
  • Experience: 2-5 years of investment advisor compliance or paralegal experience from a hedge fund, private equity firm, asset management firm, law firm, or financial institution.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory filings, and financial transaction documentation.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with strong communication skills and discretion in handling confidential information.
