Compensation: $150,000 – $195,000/year + bonus

Our client is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid) to lead the design and engineering of HVAC systems for healthcare, lab, and life sciences facilities. This role focuses on renovation and change-of-use projects, with close collaboration across MEP/FP teams, architects, and clinical stakeholders. Ideal candidates bring strong HVAC design experience in clinical and lab environments and are eager to grow into project leadership.

Responsibilities as the Mechanical Engineer:

  • HVAC Design & Engineering: Design HVAC systems for healthcare, lab, and life science facilities, ensuring efficiency and code compliance.
  • Project Execution: Lead mechanical scope for renovation and change-of-use projects from concept through construction.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with MEP/FP teams and external consultants to ensure integrated designs.
  • Client Collaboration: Engage with healthcare stakeholders to assess needs and deliver customized engineering solutions.
  • Site Assessments & Documentation: Conduct field surveys, develop technical reports, and maintain quality throughout the design process.

Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC system design for clinical care, laboratory, healthcare, or life sciences environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software such as Trane TRACE and Carrier HAP, with familiarity in coordinating MEP/FP systems.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communicator and problem-solver with the ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively across technical teams.
