Job Overview – Mechanical Engineer:
Join our client's team in Allentown, PA, as a Mechanical Engineer. This full-time position requires proficiency in mechanical and plumbing design and involves leading engineering efforts for key projects. You will manage projects, interface with clients, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Location: Allentown, PA
Compensation: $80,000 – $130,000/year (Dependent on experience)
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Mechanical Engineer:
- Project Leadership: Serve as the lead engineer for assigned projects as the Engineer-of-Record.
- Project Management: Manage schedules, budgets, and day-to-day communication for projects.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with the design team, account managers, estimators, construction team, and clients.
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate fee proposals and engineering budgets.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for other divisions of the company.
- Report Writing: Write technical reports and engineering studies, including condition assessments and energy studies.
- Site Surveying: Conduct site surveying and troubleshooting of building systems.
- Documentation: Create permit and construction documents that are accurate, complete, and code compliant.
- Team Oversight: Delegate tasks and oversee the work of junior engineers, designers, and interns.
- Process Improvement: Engage with other members of the company to continually improve processes, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field of study.
- Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience: 7 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge: Expert knowledge of building codes and standards; mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, controls, and process/industrial systems.
- Software Proficiency: Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and web-based document control and collaborative software (e.g., MS Teams, Autodesk Build, Autodesk BIM 360, SharePoint).
- Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Client Focus: Strong client focus with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
