Job Overview – Linux Infrastructure Engineer
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Linux Infrastructure Engineer in Stamford, CT for our client, supporting enterprise Linux infrastructure across mission-critical systems. In this in-office role, you will manage Red Hat Linux environments, containerized workloads, and hybrid cloud integration while partnering with engineering and development teams to ensure system stability, performance, scalability, and security across on-prem and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities as the Linux Infrastructure Engineer:
- Linux Server Administration: Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, including builds, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Administer and optimize containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, or similar platforms.
- Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure: Support hybrid cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including VM provisioning, storage, and networking integration.
- Monitoring, Backup & Availability: Monitor system performance and manage backup and disaster recovery systems to ensure high availability and data integrity.
- Lifecycle, Automation & Documentation: Oversee server lifecycle and configuration management, collaborate with development teams, and maintain clear system documentation.
Qualifications for the Linux Infrastructure Engineer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- Experience: 5+ years managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux or equivalent Linux environments in production, with experience in regulated or financial services environments preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong scripting expertise in shell scripting and Python, with experience automating system administration tasks.
- Infrastructure Integration: Proven experience integrating Linux systems with Windows-based environments, including Active Directory, Samba, and Kerberos.
- Cloud & Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with hybrid and cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure support and integration.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and project management skills, the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
