Job Overview – Legal Analyst:
As a Legal Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our client's internal fund, corporate, and legal teams. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and manage the legal entity database, ensuring accurate record-keeping and organization of critical legal documentation.
Compensation: $110,000.00 – $150,000.00 + bonus
Location: New York City
Responsibilities as the Legal Analyst include:
- Maintaining a central database for organizing entity documentation, transaction closing documents, and contractual obligations
- Managing entity formation and maintenance processes, including registration, governance document drafting, and maintenance
- Interfacing with various internal departments such as Legal, Compliance, Tax, and Operations
- Responding to internal and external document requests, including those from banks, brokerages, and counterparties
- Assisting with recurring and ad-hoc regulatory filings, such as securities and treasury filings
- Serving as the record keeper and source of information for the organization and its entities
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of law firm or in-house paralegal experience, with no plans to attend law school in the next two years
- Familiarity with private investment fund structures and transactions.
- Experience with corporate governance
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail, proactiveness, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet time-sensitive requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Highly motivated professional with a willingness to build new systems and processes
- Self-starter who shows initiative
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a high-volume environment
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to execute quickly and efficiently
