Atlantic Group is hiring a Lead Data Engineer (Private Credit & Fixed Income) for our client in New York, NY (Hybrid). In this high-impact role, you’ll design and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics infrastructure to support investment strategies across large datasets. Collaborate with private credit and fixed income teams using Python, SQL, Snowflake, Airflow, and Azure to deliver efficient, data-driven solutions. Ideal for experienced data engineers with a strong financial services background and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Responsibilities as the Lead Data Engineer:
- Data Pipeline & Infrastructure: Design and maintain scalable data pipelines, storage systems, and warehousing to support investment analytics and reporting.
- Business Collaboration: Act as the main technical liaison to investment, operations, and tech teams, translating business needs into data solutions.
- Modeling & Visualization: Develop data models and dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI to deliver insights to stakeholders.
- Data Quality & Optimization: Ensure accuracy and performance through validation, monitoring, and optimization of data workflows.
- Platform & Cloud Integration: Lead integration with platforms like Arcesium and Geneva, and support cloud-based architecture using Azure, Docker, and Airflow.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices across the data engineering function.
Qualifications for the Lead Data Engineer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field is required.
- Experience: 7+ years in data engineering with a strong focus on Python and SQL, with preferred experience supporting fixed income or private credit teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL Server, Snowflake, Python, and Airflow, with experience in Azure, Docker, Tableau, Power BI, and DevOps tools like Git or Jenkins preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with fixed income instruments, consumer loan data structures, and accounting platforms such as Arcesium or Geneva is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
