Job Overview – Junior UX Designer:
Compensation: $40/hour
Location: Middlesex County, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Junior UX Designer in Middlesex County, MA (Hybrid) for a temporary role supporting our client’s cross-platform product development and user-centered design. In this role, you’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and senior designers to create user flows, wireframes, conduct usability research, and contribute to the design system using tools like Figma, Miro, and Confluence. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career UX professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities as the Junior UX Designer:
- Design Execution: Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for web and mobile experiences.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product managers, engineers, and senior designers to translate user needs into effective design solutions.
- User Research & Testing: Support usability studies and research efforts, applying insights to improve design iterations.
- Accessibility & Design Standards: Apply usability and accessibility best practices while contributing to the design system.
- Tools & Iteration: Use Figma, Miro, and Confluence to present design work, incorporate feedback, and support QA during development.
Qualifications for the Junior UX Designer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Visual Design, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: 1+ years of practical experience in UX or product design, including internships, freelance work, or academic projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with design tools including Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, with additional familiarity in Miro and Confluence preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Exposure to usability best practices, user research methods, and responsive design for web and mobile platforms, with experience in healthcare or regulated environments preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong visual and interaction design instincts, attention to detail, curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to grow in a collaborative design environment.
