Job Overview – Investment Management Attorney
Compensation: $200,000 – $225,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring an Investment Management Attorney in New York, NY for our client, supporting legal and regulatory matters across private funds and alternative investments within a growing alternative asset management environment. This role will partner closely with investment, compliance, and operations teams on fund formation, governance, regulatory matters, and ongoing fund management activities. The position offers exposure to investment management regulations, fund structures, and complex legal matters within a collaborative legal and compliance function.

Responsibilities as the Investment Management Attorney:

  • Legal Advisory: Provide legal guidance related to private funds and alternative investment operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise on matters involving the Investment Advisers Act, Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and related securities regulations.
  • Fund Formation: Support the structuring, formation, and ongoing management of private and registered investment vehicles.
  • Document Review: Draft, review, and negotiate offering documents, partnership agreements, subscription materials, and side letters.
  • Governance & Risk Support: Assist with fund governance matters, regulatory filings, trade restrictions, and compliance-related analyses.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with investment, operations, and compliance teams while coordinating with external counsel and service providers.

Qualifications for the Investment Management Attorney:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school is required.
  • Licensure: Admission to at least one U.S. state bar is required.
  • Experience: 4–6 years of legal experience supporting investment management, private funds, or alternative asset management platforms is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of private credit, hedge funds, structured credit products, and securities regulations is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience reviewing fund documentation, regulatory filings, and investment-related legal agreements is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams are required.
