Job Overview – Interim Chief Financial Officer
Compensation: $175–$225/hour (Dependent on Experience)
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Interim Chief Financial Officer in New York, NY for our client, providing senior financial leadership within an investment management organization. This interim role will oversee fund finance, financial reporting, accounting operations, investor support, and coordination with external service providers while supporting key business and financial initiatives. The ideal candidate has extensive alternative investment finance experience with previous CFO, Controller, or comparable senior finance leadership experience.
Responsibilities as the Interim Chief Financial Officer:
- Financial Leadership: Oversee fund finance, accounting operations, financial reporting, and related financial activities while providing strategic guidance to senior leadership.
- Fund Finance: Manage fund accounting, investor activity, financial statements, and coordination with external fund administration providers.
- Investor Support: Oversee financial information and reporting while supporting investor requests, due diligence, and other investor-related initiatives.
- Audit & Tax: Coordinate audit, tax, and other financial compliance activities with external professional service providers.
- Treasury Management: Oversee liquidity, cash management, treasury activities, and financial obligations across the organization.
- Financial Operations: Strengthen financial processes, internal controls, reporting, and coordination across investment and operational activities.
Qualifications for the Interim Chief Financial Officer:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive fund finance, investment management accounting, or related financial leadership experience is required, including senior-level finance responsibilities.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of alternative investment fund accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting, fund administration, and financial operations is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong financial reporting, fund accounting, treasury, accounting systems, and financial analysis capabilities are required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong financial leadership, executive communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently are required.
