Atlantic Group is hiring an Insurance Verification Specialist in Burlington County, NJ for our client, supporting insurance verification, prior authorizations, and reimbursement services within a healthcare environment. This role works closely with patients, providers, insurance carriers, and internal teams to verify coverage, maintain accurate patient information, and support efficient reimbursement processes. The ideal candidate has strong experience with medical insurance verification and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities as the Insurance Verification Specialist:

  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans while providing patient balance estimates and collecting payments.
  • Prior Authorizations: Initiate, submit, and monitor prior authorization requests while ensuring accurate documentation and timely approvals.
  • Patient Account Management: Maintain patient records by updating demographic and insurance information, processing account adjustments, and requesting medical records when needed.
  • Customer Service: Respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and insurance carriers through phone, email, and other communication channels while delivering exceptional service.
  • Claims Support: Assist with insurance claim follow-up, appeals, payment processing, and reimbursement activities to support timely collections.
  • Compliance & Operations: Maintain HIPAA compliance, process administrative documentation, participate in departmental reporting, and identify opportunities to improve reimbursement workflows.

Qualifications for the Insurance Verification Specialist:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in insurance verification, prior authorizations, medical billing, reimbursement services, or a related healthcare administrative role is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with medical claims processing, insurance verification, medical terminology, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic medical records, healthcare billing systems, and standard computer applications is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, solve problems independently, and succeed in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
