Atlantic Group is hiring an Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist in Burlington County, NJ for our client, supporting insurance verification, prior authorizations, patient accounts, and reimbursement operations within a healthcare environment. This role will verify coverage and benefits, obtain authorizations, maintain accurate patient and insurance information, and communicate with patients, providers, and insurance carriers. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of healthcare customer service, insurance verification, authorization, or medical billing experience with strong knowledge of payer requirements and medical insurance processes.

Responsibilities as the Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist:

  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, benefits, and patient financial responsibility.
  • Prior Authorizations: Initiate, submit, track, and obtain prior authorizations and referrals based on applicable requirements.
  • Account Management: Maintain accurate patient, insurance, and account information while resolving coverage or documentation issues.
  • Customer Support: Respond to patient, provider, and insurance inquiries regarding coverage, benefits, authorizations, and account information.
  • Reimbursement Support: Support billing and reimbursement processes while identifying issues requiring additional research or escalation.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation while following applicable healthcare, privacy, and insurance requirements.

Qualifications for the Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of insurance verification, prior authorization, medical billing, healthcare customer service, or related experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with healthcare insurance processes, claims, authorizations, and medical terminology is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic healthcare systems, and data entry is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong customer service, organization, communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and ability to manage a high-volume workload are required.
