Job Overview – Fund Controller (Private Credit):
Compensation: $60 – $100/hour
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Temporary Fund Controller (Private Credit) for our client in New York, NY. Lead accounting, reporting, and compliance for a private credit fund, including NAV oversight, financial reporting, and regulatory filings. Oversee fund operations, partner with service providers, and support liquidity management, board materials, and investor inquiries. Ideal for fund controllers with SEC reporting expertise, credit product knowledge, and leadership experience in private credit.
Responsibilities as the Fund Controller (Private Credit):
- Fund Oversight & Launch: Manage fund structures, operations, and new launches, including system implementations, control environments, and process manuals.
- Regulatory Filings: Prepare and review SEC filings such as N-PORT, N-CEN, N-CSR, and annual/semi-annual reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- NAV & Financial Reporting: Oversee daily NAVs, monthly/quarterly closes, allocations, waterfalls, and fund returns while coordinating with administrators, custodians, and valuation firms.
- Board & Investor Reporting: Produce quarterly board materials, marketing presentations, and investor reporting packages.
- Compliance & Controls: Monitor compliance with SEC and IRS regulations, manage incentive fee reviews, and oversee fund credit facilities.
- Liquidity & Portfolio Management: Oversee cash flow forecasts, budgets, leverage facilities, and portfolio compliance testing including reconciliation and concentration analysis.
Qualifications for the Fund Controller (Private Credit):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA designation preferred).
- Experience: 7-12 years of accounting and finance experience with SEC reporting for registered investment companies and private credit required, with daily NAV fund experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros, with experience designing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, organized, and resourceful with strong time management and leadership skills, able to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
