Job Overview – Estimating Manager
Join our client's team as an Estimating Manager and play a crucial role in managing the estimating process to ensure accurate and competitive bids for construction projects. This is an immediate and pressing need for a dynamic company located onsite in Dauphin County, PA.

Compensation: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 + bonus
Location: Dauphin County, PA – Onsite

Responsibilities as the Estimating Manager include:

  • Lead and manage a team of 2-3 estimators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
  • Oversee the planning, selection, and purchasing of materials, components, and commodity items required for construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to review construction project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Analyze the construction project requirements, scope, and timelines to develop detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and make recommendations for subcontractor selection.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to create accurate and competitive bids, ensuring compliance with project requirements and construction industry standards.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other project-related activities to gather information and assess project risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain documentation of estimates, pricing data, and vendor/subcontractor information for future reference and analysis.

Qualifications of the Estimating Manager include:

  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, estimating, or related roles within the construction industry.
  • Experience with Yardi is a plus.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively oversee and mentor a team of construction estimators.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
