Job Overview – Cybersecurity Analyst:
Are you passionate about safeguarding digital assets and managing security risks? We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our team in a 100% remote capacity. In this role, you will focus on operational and technical tasks within our cybersecurity and security risk management program, playing a vital part in protecting our organization's information systems and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Location: Remote
Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000/year
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Remote)

Responsibilities of the Cybersecurity Analyst:

  • Technical Services Oversight and Compliance Monitoring: Manage day-to-day technical services and ensure system and service compliance with information security procedures and policies.
  • Security Evaluation and Industry Knowledge: Evaluate new applications, SaaS offerings, and IT purchases for security and compliance; maintain up-to-date IT security industry knowledge.
  • Incident Response and Investigation: Participate in cybersecurity incident response; investigate incidents, analyze technical information, and ensure incident ticket progress.
  • Awareness Training and Policy Development: Develop cybersecurity awareness training and assist in creating and maintaining security policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessment and SIEM Monitoring: Assess IT risks, recommend security controls, investigate SIEM alerts/events, escalate incidents, and update detection rules.

Required Skills of the Cybersecurity Analyst:

  • Information Security Knowledge and Relevant Experience: Extensive knowledge of information security principles and threats with 5+ years in cybersecurity operations, incident response, threat intelligence, threat hunting, or digital forensics.
  • Technical Expertise and Risk Assessment: Proficient in Linux and Windows OS, web technologies, networking, cloud environments, and IT security technologies. Skilled in performing risk assessments, impact analysis, and recommending controls.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Effective at presenting conclusions to diverse audiences, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Automation & CI/CD and Vendor Assessment: Familiar with automation and CI/CD tools, capable of performing vendor security assessments.
  • Awareness Program and Confidentiality: Skilled in developing and executing cybersecurity awareness programs, with a proven ability to handle confidential information discreetly.

Qualifications for the Cybersecurity Analyst:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience: 4-6 years’ information security experience, 1-2 years’ networking experience, and 1-2 years’ Windows and/or Linux server administration experience.
  • Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Security+, or other security certifications preferred. Azure Security Engineer Associate preferred.
  • Project Management: 1-2 years of project management experience preferred.
