Job Overview:

In this influential role, you will be instrumental in promoting and upholding a secure working environment within the construction industry. 

Responsibilities:
In the role of Safety Manager (Construction), you will be responsible for the following —

  • Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards
  • Providing safety training to employees, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of following safety protocols
  • Investigating accidents and incidents, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Maintaining accurate safety records, including incident reports, safety training records, and safety data sheets (SDS)
  • Collaborating with project managers and contractors to address safety concerns and ensure the implementation of appropriate safety measures
  • Staying up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices, proactively recommending improvements to safety programs and procedures
  • Conducting safety audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective measures

Qualifications:
To be considered for the Safety Manager (Construction) role, you should have the following qualifications —

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety protocols
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to identify potential hazards and assess risks
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate safety records and documentation
