Job Overview – Construction Permit Coordinator:
Take on a key administrative role with our client as a Construction Permit Coordinator in Newark, NJ. In this on-site position, you will oversee the permit application process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating smooth project approvals. Your expertise in navigating municipal agencies and coordinating documentation will be essential in supporting construction operations.
Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000/year

Responsibilities as the Construction Permit Coordinator:
- Permit Acquisition: Manage the full lifecycle of obtaining permits from the Department of Buildings (DOB), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other regulatory agencies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all permit applications adhere to local and state building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations.
- Documentation & Tracking: Prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and renewals.
- Agency Liaison: Communicate with city officials, inspectors, and municipal employees to expedite approvals and resolve permitting issues.
- Administrative Support: Assist with permit-related documentation, fee payments, and tracking project deadlines to ensure compliance with regulatory timelines.
Qualifications for the Construction Permit Coordinator:
- Education: High school diploma required (coursework in construction administration, business, or a related field preferred).
- Experience: 2 years of experience in permit coordination or construction administration, with a strong understanding of NYC permitting processes.
- Skills and Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with permit tracking software preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with NYC building codes, zoning laws, and regulatory agency procedures, including DOB and DOT processes.
