Job Overview – Construction Estimator (Healthcare & Education)
Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a Construction Estimator (Healthcare & Education) in Philadelphia, PA for our client. In this on-site role, you will prepare accurate cost estimates for ground-up and renovation projects within healthcare and higher education environments, supporting preconstruction planning, budgeting, and bid submissions. You will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and design teams to evaluate project scope, pricing, and risk while ensuring estimates align with client and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities as the Construction Estimator:
- Cost Estimating: Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for ground-up and renovation projects within healthcare and higher education environments.
- Bid Management: Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure complete scope coverage and competitive pricing.
- Budget Development: Develop conceptual, schematic, and GMP-level budgets while identifying cost drivers, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
- Scope Review: Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accurate scope definition and estimate completeness.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with project managers and project teams to align estimates with construction methods, schedules, and execution plans.
Qualifications for the Construction Estimator:
- Experience: 5-10 years of estimating experience with a general contractor, including healthcare and higher education projects involving ground-up and renovation construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with estimating and preconstruction software such as Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar tools, along with strong Excel skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction means and methods, cost controls, subcontractor pricing, and healthcare and education construction standards.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple bids, and comfort working full-time on-site in a fast-paced preconstruction environment.
