Job Overview – Construction Estimator:
Step into a key role with our client as a Construction Estimator in Chester County, PA. This on-site position focuses on overseeing the estimating process for commercial, industrial, and residential projects of varying scope and complexity. You will be responsible for securing bids, negotiating contracts, and managing awarded projects to ensure financial and operational success.
Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000/year + bonus
Location: Chester County, PA
Responsibilities as the Construction Estimator:
- Project Estimation & Bidding: Identify, analyze, and prepare estimates for site development projects, ensuring competitive and accurate proposals.
- Contract Negotiation & Procurement: Manage bid proposals, negotiate contracts and change orders, and establish agreements with owners/clients.
- Project Management & Coordination: Oversee awarded projects, liaise with accounting teams on invoicing, review subcontracts and purchase orders, and collaborate with field personnel to ensure successful execution.
- Client & Vendor Relations: Maintain and expand a portfolio of clients and engineering firm relationships, proactively identifying new bidding opportunities.
- Technical Analysis & Cost Control: Interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accurate budgeting and financial oversight.
Qualifications for the Construction Estimator:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction estimating, project management, and cost control within commercial, industrial, or residential sectors.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bid2Win software, and AGTEK earthwork take-off software.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contract documents, with experience in hands-on fieldwork considered a plus.
- Business Development: Established relationships with engineering firms and clients, with a demonstrated ability to source new projects and bid opportunities.
- Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, with strong communication skills for client and team collaboration.
