Job Overview – Benefits Account Manager (Insurance Brokerage):
Join our client in the Greater Boston area as a Benefits Account Manager (Insurance Brokerage), where you’ll focus on managing prospect marketing and client accounts within an insurance agency or brokerage. This full-time role includes leading coverage negotiations, proactively engaging with clients, and collaborating with carriers to craft and deliver competitive benefits programs.
Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000/year + bonus
Location: Greater Boston Area
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Responsibilities as the Benefits Account Manager (Insurance Brokerage):
- Client Acquisition: Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, conducting outreach through email, calls, and LinkedIn while tracking renewal dates and opportunities.
- Account Management: Oversee new business acquisition and renewals, manage carrier communications, process BOR letters, and collaborate with Client Service Administrators to ensure timely and accurate follow-through.
- Coverage Analysis: Assess client coverage needs and negotiate with carriers to secure the best benefits packages and renewal terms, leveraging industry expertise and relationships.
- Client Development: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and vendors, serving as a trusted resource on benefits technology, HR solutions, and compliance requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Provide technical guidance and leadership within the Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty teams, fostering a cohesive and high-quality client service experience.
Qualifications for the Benefits Account Manager (Insurance Brokerage):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of Account Management experience specifically within an insurance agency or brokerage, focused on employee benefits.
- Licensure: Active Life & Health (L&H) license required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a strategic mindset for client prospecting and negotiation.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (experience with benefits administration systems is a plus).
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of employee benefits, insurance policy provisions, and applicable compliance laws.
