Support commercial projects as an Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Construction) with our client in Philadelphia, PA. In this on-site role, you will assist with scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and client communications while gaining experience in preconstruction, estimating, and field operations. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career construction professionals looking to grow into a Project Manager role, with preference for candidates familiar with the Center City market.

Responsibilities as the Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Construction):

  • Project Support: Assist Project Managers with scheduling, budgeting, and daily oversight of commercial projects.
  • Preconstruction Assistance: Support estimating, bidding, and procurement to ensure accurate pricing and vendor selection.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Communicate with subcontractors and vendors, track submittals, and review RFIs for accuracy.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project records, contracts, meeting minutes, and progress reports to support execution.
  • Client & Field Communication: Participate in client meetings, prepare updates, and collaborate with superintendents to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager (Commercial Construction):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Up to 5 years of experience in commercial construction project support, with preference for experience in renovations, interiors, or fit-outs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial construction practices, preconstruction processes, and the Philadelphia/Center City market.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
