Job Overview – Assistant Construction Estimator (Healthcare & Education)
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Construction Estimator (Healthcare & Education) in Philadelphia, PA for our client, supporting preconstruction and estimating activities for ground-up and renovation projects. This on-site role focuses on quantity takeoffs, bid analysis, and cost modeling while partnering with senior estimators and project teams to deliver accurate, competitive project pricing.
Responsibilities as the Assistant Construction Estimator:
- Estimating Support: Assist with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for ground-up and renovation healthcare and higher education projects.
- Bid Coordination: Support the solicitation, review, and comparison of subcontractor bids to ensure complete scope coverage and competitive pricing.
- Cost Documentation: Prepare estimate summaries, pricing models, and supporting documentation for conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimates.
- Scope Review: Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope requirements, clarifications, and potential risks.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with senior estimators and project teams to align estimates with construction methods and project schedules.
Qualifications for the Assistant Construction Estimator:
- Experience: 2-5 years of estimating experience with a general contractor, with exposure to healthcare and higher education projects preferred.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with estimating and takeoff tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, or similar platforms, along with strong Excel skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction means and methods, subcontractor pricing, and estimating processes within regulated environments.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and comfort working full-time on-site in a collaborative preconstruction setting.
