Job Overview – Accounts Payable Systems Manager (Temporary)
Compensation: $35–$45/hour
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Remote)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Systems Manager (Temporary) for our client. This project-based role will lead the implementation and optimization of new accounts payable technology for a nonprofit organization with complex, multi-program accounting operations. The Accounts Payable Systems Manager will own system configuration, workflow automation, process documentation, and staff training while helping transition the finance team from manual processes to a scalable digital AP environment. The ideal candidate has nonprofit accounting experience and has successfully led an AP system implementation or finance transformation project.
Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Systems Manager:
- Systems Implementation: Lead the implementation and optimization of accounts payable systems, including configuration, vendor setup, and approval workflows.
- Process Automation: Improve and automate accounts payable processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Systems Integration: Coordinate accounting system integrations and partner with internal and external stakeholders to address implementation needs.
- Workflow Development: Design and improve AP workflows, approval processes, expense allocation, and related financial controls.
- Training & Documentation: Train finance staff on new systems and processes while developing procedures and supporting documentation.
- Controls & Compliance: Ensure accounts payable processes maintain appropriate financial controls and support applicable accounting requirements.
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Systems Manager:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable, accounting, finance operations, or related experience is required.
- Implementation Experience: Experience leading or supporting an accounts payable system implementation, automation initiative, or finance transformation is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working within complex accounting or finance environments with multiple workflows and reporting requirements is required.
- Technical Skills: Experience with AP automation platforms, accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel is required.
- Process Improvement: Experience developing financial workflows, internal controls, and documented accounting procedures is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong project management, communication, training, documentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
