Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Associate (Accounts Receivable) in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounts receivable, collections, customer account management, and general accounting operations. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a recent accounting graduate with 1–2 years of accounting, accounts receivable, collections, or related experience who is looking to build their accounting career.

Responsibilities as the Accounting Associate (Accounts Receivable):

  • Accounts Receivable: Support daily accounts receivable activities, including invoice tracking, payment processing, and customer account maintenance.
  • Collections: Follow up on outstanding balances and communicate with customers regarding payment status and account discrepancies.
  • Account Reconciliation: Review customer accounts, research payment differences, and assist with resolving billing and receivable issues.
  • Customer Support: Respond to account and payment inquiries while maintaining professional relationships with customers.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with sales and internal teams to research account issues and support timely collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Accounting Support: Assist with reporting, data entry, documentation, and other general accounting activities as needed.

Qualifications for the Accounting Associate (Accounts Receivable):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of accounting, accounts receivable, collections, customer service, or related experience is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Basic knowledge of accounting principles, accounts receivable, collections, invoicing, and account reconciliation is required.
  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Excel and general accounting software proficiency are preferred, with strong data entry and computer skills required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, interpersonal communication, organization, customer service, problem-solving, and ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and customers are required.
