Job Overview – Senior Preconstruction Manager
Join our client's team as a Senior Preconstruction Manager and take the lead in preparing best-in-class budget proposals and bids for multifamily and mixed-use construction projects. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in construction management and estimating to contribute to the success of our dynamic firm.
Compensation: $150,000.00 – $170,000.00 + bonus
Location: Fulton County, GA – Onsite
Responsibilities as the Senior Preconstruction Manager include:
- Assume the lead role in directing activities necessary to prepare comprehensive budget proposals and bids for multifamily and mixed-use construction projects.
- Collaborate with the Director of Preconstruction and other team members to develop accurate cost estimates, value engineering options, and bid packages.
- Conduct thorough analysis of construction project specifications, drawings, and site conditions to identify potential risks, opportunities, and value-engineering solutions.
- Manage the preconstruction process from initial client meetings through final bid submission, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and subcontractor bids.
- Utilize construction-leading software and tools to prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid documents.
- Lead and mentor junior estimators and preconstruction team members, providing guidance and support throughout the bid process.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to foster collaboration and trust.
- Stay current on construction industry trends, best practices, and new technologies including preconstruction and estimating.
Qualifications of the Senior Preconstruction Manager include:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry, with a focus on multifamily and mixed-use projects.
- 5+ years of experience in senior estimating or preconstruction management roles.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes, with the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Procore, or Sage.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering accurate and competitive bids on construction projects.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced construction environment.
