Role Overview – Legal Analyst:
Our client, a respected registered investment advisor, is seeking a highly motivated Legal Analyst to join their team. In this position, the selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Chief Legal Officer to streamline legal operations, implement process improvements, and oversee legal technology initiatives. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department.

Please note that candidates with experience in Power BI and AI will be preferred. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may also change at any time.

Compensation: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 + bonus
Location/Office Policy: New York City (4 days in office + 15 days of remote flexibility)

Responsibilities for the Legal Analyst include:
1.    Process Improvement
•    Lead efforts to streamline legal processes, increase efficiency, and reduce operational costs
•    Implement best practices and standards to enhance the overall effectiveness of legal operations from the ground up

2.    Technology Management
•    Manage and administer legal technology tools and software platforms, including contract management systems, billing systems, and document management systems
•    Provide training and support to legal team members on the use of these tools

3.    Document Management
•    Manage and maintain legal documents and records related to investment transactions, including investment management agreements, fund formation documents, offering memoranda, and subscription agreements
•    Ensure accurate and timely filing and retrieval of documents

4.    Data Analysis and Reporting
•    Analyze legal data and metrics to identify trends, track key performance indicators, and generate reports for stakeholders
•    Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and improve legal outcomes

5.    Contract Management
•    Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts and agreements related to investment transactions, including service provider agreements, confidentiality agreements, and vendor contracts
•    Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements

6.    Training and Development
•    Develop training materials and resources for legal team members on legal processes, tools, and procedures
•    Provide ongoing training and support to promote continuous improvement and professional development

7.    Project Management
•    Lead legal projects and initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, set project timelines, and track progress against milestones

Qualifications of the Legal Analyst include:
•    Experience with both PowerBi & AI (Artificial Intelligence)
•    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
•    2 to 4+ years of relevant work experience
•    Strongly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
•    Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret legal data and metrics
•    Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
•    Proven track record of project management and process improvement initiatives
•    Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
•    Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
•    Understanding of legal processes, technology tools, and best practices in legal operations (preferred)
•    Proficiency in using legal technology platforms, such as contract management systems and document management systems (preferred)
•    Interest in investment management/value investing (preferred)
