Atlantic Group is hiring a Software Test Engineer in Norfolk County, MA for our client, supporting software verification, validation, and testing for regulated laboratory and scientific instrumentation. The Software Test Engineer will execute manual and automated testing across integrated hardware and software products while documenting results, investigating defects, and supporting release activities. This contract opportunity requires hands-on software testing experience and familiarity with regulated product development environments.

Responsibilities as the Software Test Engineer:

  • Software Testing: Execute manual, system, integration, and regression testing across software and integrated technology products.
  • Verification & Validation: Validate software requirements and functionality while maintaining accurate test cases, results, and supporting documentation.
  • Defect Management: Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects while collaborating with development teams on resolution.
  • Test Automation: Support automated testing and expand test coverage for new functionality, software updates, and defect corrections.
  • Test Environments: Configure and maintain software testing environments and support testing across integrated systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Document testing activities and support software releases in accordance with established quality and development processes.

Qualifications for the Software Test Engineer:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of software QA, software testing, system testing, or related engineering experience is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, verification and validation, regression testing, integration testing, and defect management is required, with regulated product experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with software testing and defect tracking tools is required, with automated testing, scripting, requirements traceability, and integrated system testing experience preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, independence, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
