Job Overview – Construction Estimator
Compensation: $50,000–$65,000/year

Atlantic Group is hiring a Construction Estimator in Delaware County, PA for our client, supporting construction estimating, blueprint interpretation, material takeoffs, and project quoting within a construction and fabrication environment. This temp-to-hire or direct hire opportunity will review project plans and specifications, calculate material requirements, and collaborate with sales and project teams to develop accurate estimates. The ideal candidate has strong math and analytical skills with construction plan reading experience, and recent graduates or candidates with relevant technical or trade school training are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities as the Construction Estimator:
- Construction Estimating: Review architectural and engineering plans to develop accurate material quantities and project estimates.
- Material Takeoffs: Calculate reinforcing steel, wire mesh, support accessories, and other project material requirements from construction documents.
- Project Quoting: Partner with sales professionals to prepare detailed estimates and supporting information for customer proposals.
- Blueprint Review: Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and design requirements while identifying changes or discrepancies that could affect estimates.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with sales, detailing, and project teams to incorporate evolving design requirements and maintain estimate accuracy.
- Client Communication: Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify project requirements and support timely completion of estimates.
Qualifications for the Construction Estimator:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required, with trade school, technical training, or post-secondary education in construction, estimating, drafting, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 0–2 years of construction estimating, junior estimating, construction, drafting, or related technical experience is preferred, with entry-level candidates possessing relevant education or training considered.
- Industry Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong mathematical skills and computer proficiency are required, with Microsoft Office and construction estimating or industry-specific software experience preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, organization, time management, problem-solving, communication, and ability to manage multiple deadlines are required.
