Atlantic Group is hiring a Legal Assistant in Cherry Hill, NJ for our client. This temporary opportunity provides administrative and legal support to a team of attorneys by assisting with document preparation, correspondence, file management, scheduling, and other day-to-day legal operations. The ideal candidate has prior legal administrative or paralegal experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative office environment.

Responsibilities as the Legal Assistant (Temporary):

  • Document Preparation: Prepare legal correspondence, applications, pleadings, and other legal documents using dictation and attorney instructions.
  • Administrative Support: Manage attorney calendars, enter billable time, maintain files, and provide day-to-day administrative support for multiple attorneys.
  • Hearing Preparation: Assemble hearing binders, organize exhibits, prepare document tabs, and coordinate materials for court and municipal meetings.
  • Document Management: Copy, scan, file, and organize legal records while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Time Entry & Reporting: Record attorney time entries and assist with administrative tracking using legal practice management software.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with attorneys and office staff to ensure timely completion of legal and administrative tasks.

Qualifications for the Legal Assistant (Temporary):

  • Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • Experience: Previous legal assistant, legal administrative assistant, or law firm support experience is required. Experience supporting any legal practice area will be considered.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with legal documentation, court filings, litigation support, or municipal law processes is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Experience with legal time entry or practice management software is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational, communication, proofreading, and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
