Job Overview – Medical Front Desk Coordinator

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Atlantic Group is hiring a Medical Front Desk Coordinator in Philadelphia, PA for our client, supporting patient access, scheduling, front desk operations, and administrative coordination within a healthcare environment. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers the potential for long-term employment and will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to provide a professional and welcoming patient experience while supporting scheduling, insurance verification, and day-to-day office operations. The ideal candidate will bring prior medical office experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.
Responsibilities as the Medical Front Desk Coordinator:
- Patient Reception: Greet patients, manage check-in and check-out processes, and provide a polished and professional front desk experience.
- Scheduling Coordination: Schedule appointments, manage calendars, coordinate patient flow, and assist with appointment confirmations and follow-up communication.
- Insurance Verification: Collect, review, and verify insurance information, patient demographics, and related documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Phone & Administrative Support: Answer incoming calls, assist with patient inquiries, route messages appropriately, and support daily office operations.
- EMR Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and support administrative workflows within EMR/EHR systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient access, communication, and operational efficiency throughout the practice.
Qualifications for the Medical Front Desk Coordinator:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience within a medical front desk, patient access, medical receptionist, or healthcare administrative role is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience within orthopedic, physical therapy, imaging, urgent care, surgical, concierge medicine, or specialty healthcare environments is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Experience with EMR/EHR systems, scheduling platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and insurance verification processes is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, professionalism, customer service abilities, organizational skills, phone etiquette, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment are required.
