Job Overview – Construction Project Manager (Multifamily)
Compensation: $110,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: Washington, DC
Atlantic Group is hiring a Construction Project Manager (Multifamily) in Washington, DC for our client, supporting ground-up and renovation multifamily construction projects across the DC and DMV market. In this on-site role, you will manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and on-site execution while partnering closely with ownership, architects, engineers, and field teams. You will play a key role in delivering projects safely, on time, and in alignment with quality and financial objectives.
Responsibilities as the Construction Project Manager (Multifamily):
- Project Execution & Oversight: Manage multifamily construction projects from turnover through closeout, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating trades and sequencing to support efficient site operations.
- Budget & Cost Control: Track project costs, manage change orders, review pay applications, and provide accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
- Subcontractor & Field Management: Lead subcontractor coordination and oversee daily on-site activities to ensure performance, safety, and compliance with plans and codes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, consultants, inspectors, and internal teams, providing updates and resolving issues proactively.
Qualifications for the Construction Project Manager (Multifamily):
- Experience: 5+ years of experience managing multifamily and or commercial construction projects for a general contractor within the Washington, DC or DMV market.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and project management tools.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with multifamily construction methods, local building codes, and permitting processes within the DMV region.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership and communication skills, high attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple workstreams, and comfort operating in fast-paced construction environments.
