Job Overview – Preconstruction Coordinator:
Compensation: $120,000 – $170,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Atlantic Group is hiring a Preconstruction Coordinator in Philadelphia, PA for our client. This on-site role supports all front-end preconstruction activities, including bid coordination, subcontractor engagement, scope development, and early project planning. You will work closely with project executives, estimators, and design teams to ensure accurate scopes and a smooth handoff to operations. This role is ideal for candidates with strong construction experience and preconstruction coordination skills.
Responsibilities as the Preconstruction Coordinator:
- Preconstruction Coordination: Manage front-end activities including document control, bid package preparation, and early-stage project planning.
- Scope Development: Review drawings and specifications to develop accurate scope sheets and ensure alignment across trades.
- Subcontractor Engagement: Distribute bid documents, track participation, coordinate RFIs, and maintain communication throughout the pre-bid process.
- Bid Organization: Compile bid packages, track submissions, compare proposals, and ensure complete documentation for estimator review.
- Design & Project Support: Coordinate with architects and engineers for clarifications and prepare preconstruction deliverables for project handoff.
Qualifications for the Preconstruction Coordinator:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years in preconstruction or project coordination, preferably on non-union commercial or multifamily projects.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings with proficiency in construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or PlanGrid.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of building systems, trade scopes, subcontractor workflows, bid processes, and early-phase project planning.
- Skills & Attributes: Organized, detail-oriented communicator with the ability to manage multiple bids and work collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
