Atlantic Group is hiring a Construction Estimator (Site Work & Civil Projects) in New York, NY with our client. In this role, you will lead estimating for site work, civil infrastructure, and amenity projects across the NYC area, preparing cost estimates, reviewing specifications, and collaborating on pricing strategies. This position is ideal for experienced estimators with expertise in civil construction, earthwork, and utilities who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.

Responsibilities as the Construction Estimator:

  • Project Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for site work, civil, and landscaping projects, including excavation, grading, and utilities.
  • Bid Preparation: Review drawings and specifications to develop competitive bids and proposals for private-sector projects.
  • Vendor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure accuracy and cost efficiency.
  • Budget Management: Develop and maintain project budgets, supporting value engineering and cost control initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Partner with project managers, engineers, and developers to align scope, design intent, and pricing accuracy.

Qualifications for the Construction Estimator:

  • Experience: 8-10 years of progressive estimating experience focused on site work, civil, or landscape construction projects in the New York metropolitan area.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating software such as HeavyBid, HCSS, or Sage Estimating.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of site development, utilities, concrete, grading, and civil construction practices, with familiarity in private developer projects.
  • Skills & Attributes: Analytical and detail-oriented professional with strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, adept at managing multiple bids and tight deadlines.
