Job Overview – Director of Construction (Residential Renovation):
Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a Director of Construction (Residential Renovation) in New York, NY. This on-site role leads high-end residential and select commercial renovation projects, overseeing design-build operations, budgets, schedules, and client relations. Our client seeks an experienced construction leader with deep residential renovation expertise and a proven track record of managing internal teams. This role also offers the opportunity to move into a future partnership position.
Responsibilities as the Director of Construction (Residential Renovation):
- Leadership: Oversee all construction operations across residential and select commercial renovation projects.
- Project Oversight: Manage design-build projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule compliance.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor project managers, site supervisors, and staff to build a high-performing team.
- Client Relations: Meet with clients regularly to review plans, resolve issues, and drive customer satisfaction.
- Operational Strategy: Develop and implement best practices in scheduling, cost control, and workflow for efficiency and profitability.
- Quality Control: Enforce high standards for workmanship, safety, and compliance across all projects.
Qualifications for the Director of Construction (Residential Renovation):
- Experience: 10+ years in construction management with proven leadership of internal teams, specializing in residential renovation and design-build projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of renovation processes, building codes, permitting, and client-driven custom construction.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership and communication skills, proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a track record of client-facing success and operational excellence.
