Job Overview – Assistant Superintendent (Commercial Construction):
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year + bonus

Support large-scale commercial projects as an Assistant Superintendent (Commercial Construction) with our client in Philadelphia, PA. Partner with the Superintendent to manage daily site operations, subcontractors, safety compliance, and project schedules. Coordinate inspections, review plans, and ensure quality from groundbreaking to completion. Ideal for candidates with general contracting experience in ground-up industrial or warehouse construction seeking to advance into a lead superintendent role.

Responsibilities as the Assistant Superintendent:

  • Project Coordination: Partner with the Superintendent to manage daily site operations and ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
  • Subcontractor & Safety Oversight: Coordinate subcontractor schedules, monitor progress, and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Quality Control: Conduct inspections, resolve construction issues, and track punch list completion to maintain quality standards.
  • Scheduling & Reporting: Assist in developing schedules, maintaining daily logs, and preparing progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Site Logistics & Inspections: Manage equipment deliveries, material storage, and inspections to ensure project compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications for the Assistant Superintendent:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years in commercial construction, preferably with a general contractor, including ground-up industrial or warehouse projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in construction management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project scheduling tools.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, building codes, and quality assurance processes.
  • Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to problem-solve, multitask, and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
