Atlantic Group is hiring a Temporary Commercial Legal Counsel (Remote) to support our client’s legal team with commercial transactions, data licensing, and privacy compliance. In this role, you’ll draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements while advising internal teams on intellectual property, data privacy (GDPR, DPPA, CCPA), and regulatory risk. Ideal for experienced legal professionals with a background in technology, SaaS, or data-driven environments.
Responsibilities as the Temporary Commercial Legal Counsel:
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements including licensing, consultancy, data processing, web services, and NDAs.
- Privacy & Regulatory Support: Advise internal stakeholders on data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, DPPA, CCPA), ensuring compliance and minimizing legal risk.
- Collaboration: Partner with product, security, and business teams to deliver practical legal solutions aligned with business strategy.
- IP & Compliance Advisory: Provide guidance on intellectual property protection, contractual rights, and legal risk exposure in commercial operations.
- Business Enablement: Serve as a legal resource to support product development and business growth across core business units and adjacent verticals.
Qualifications for the Temporary Commercial Legal Counsel:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school required.
- Licensure: Must be a qualified and licensed attorney in good standing.
- Experience: 4+ years of post-qualified legal experience with a strong emphasis on commercial contracts, ideally in technology, SaaS, or data-centric environments.
- Technical Skills: Strong experience drafting and negotiating licensing agreements and familiarity with global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, DPPA).
- Skills & Attributes: Skilled in legal drafting and negotiation, with clear communication, a proactive approach, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative settings.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of commercial IP law, data protection standards, and legal frameworks in multi-jurisdictional environments.
