Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Data Architect for our client in New York, NY. In this hands-on, strategic role, you’ll lead enterprise data modeling and architecture using Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, and Medallion Architecture. Ideal candidates have senior-level experience designing scalable models to support BI, analytics, and operational reporting across cloud-native environments. You’ll collaborate with business and engineering teams to align architecture with evolving data needs.

Responsibilities as the Data Architect:

  • Enterprise Data Modeling: Design scalable, performant data models (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault) to support BI, analytics, and operational reporting.
  • Data Strategy & Governance: Establish modeling standards, lineage tracking, metadata management, and data quality protocols across all domains.
  • Cloud Architecture Alignment: Guide model implementation in Microsoft Fabric and Delta Lake, optimizing for Medallion Architecture use.
  • Collaboration & Translation: Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into logical and physical models.
  • Continuous Optimization: Evaluate and refine existing models to improve performance, maintainability, and business alignment.

Qualifications for the Data Architect:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Architecture, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Experience: 7+ years in data architecture, data modeling, or designing large-scale data platforms, with a focus on cloud-native ecosystems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data modeling (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault), with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, Synapse, Databricks, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiar with data governance tools like Microsoft Purview, with exposure to NoSQL (e.g., Cosmos DB), graph modeling, KQL, and ML feature store design.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, clear communication abilities, and the confidence to drive cross-functional data initiatives.
