Job Overview – Construction Estimator:
Join our client as a Construction Estimator in Philadelphia, PA. This position focuses on preparing accurate and competitive bids for heavy and sitework construction projects, including earthwork, sheeting and shoring, underpinning, utility work, and paving. You will play a key role in ensuring the success of both public and private bidding opportunities.
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Responsibilities as the Construction Estimator:
- Bid Preparation: Create detailed cost estimates from takeoff to final pricing, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Proposal Development: Craft comprehensive proposals tailored to client and project requirements.
- Project Analysis: Review plans, specifications, and documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to address all project details during estimation.
- Technology Utilization: Use HCSS HeavyBid and Agtek to improve estimation efficiency and accuracy.
- Market Research: Track industry trends, labor costs, and material pricing to develop competitive bids.
Qualifications for the Construction Estimator:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in heavy and sitework construction estimating, with proven expertise in earthwork, utilities, paving, and related construction disciplines.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), with a strong ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple deadlines, and thrives in fast-paced environments.
