Job Overview – Entry-Level Phlebotomist:
Our healthcare client in Milwaukie, OR, is seeking an Entry-Level Phlebotomist to join their expanding team. In this role, you will collect blood samples safely and efficiently, ensuring patient comfort and maintaining the integrity of specimens for accurate analysis. You'll also play a key role in upholding the organization’s professional standards and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Compensation: $19 – $23/hour
Location: Milwaukie, OR
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Entry-Level Phlebotomist:
- Blood Collection: Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens safely and efficiently, ensuring patient comfort throughout the process.
- Specimen Integrity: Verify patient information, label specimens correctly, and follow proper handling procedures to maintain sample quality for accurate lab results.
- Patient Interaction: Effectively communicate with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns to ensure a positive experience.
- Environment: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely collection and delivery of specimens to the laboratory.
- Compliance: Follow all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines to maintain high standards of practice.
Qualifications for the Entry-Level Phlebotomist:
- Education: High school diploma/ GED required.
- Experience: 6+ months of Phlebotomy experience, including Pediatric and Geriatric blood draws (1+ years preferred).
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Skills: Strong customer service skills, with prior experience in retail or service environments.
- Location Requirement: Must reside within a 20-25 minute commute for flexible coverage.
