Job Overview – Valuations Specialist:
We are seeking an experienced Valuations Specialist to join our newly established valuations group in New York City. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating processes and automation for the valuations team, as well as supporting the preparation of quarterly valuation models and portfolio analytics.

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $175,000 – $225,000/year
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Valuations Specialist:

  • Process and Automation Development: Focus on creating processes and automation for the valuations team, emphasizing this in the first year (80% of the role).
  • Valuation Support and Accuracy: Support the Head of Valuation in preparing quarterly valuation models and portfolio analytics, ensuring accurate investment valuations.
  • Model Validation and Technology Implementation: Validate new valuation models, ensure policy compliance, and collaborate with the Technology team to implement and automate valuation setups for new products.
  • Coordination and Communication Management: Coordinate with finance, IT, risk, and other teams on pricing, valuation, P&L, and valuation models. Manage communications with third-party valuation service providers and auditors.
  • Price Testing Analysis: Conduct price testing analysis with counterparty valuation and third-party vendors’ prices, such as Bloomberg.

Qualifications for the Valuations Specialist:

  • Experience: 3-10 years of experience from another fund or third party, with DCF modeling experience and experience with automation tools (PowerBI, Adapar, SharePoint, Canoe, Everest, Mariana, Salesforce).
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in traditional PE investments, real estate, or lending.
  • Certifications: CFA designation strongly preferred, or CFA parts passed
  • Skills: Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills. Possess problem-solving, data analytical, and valuation skills. Quantitative finance background with knowledge of financial products, specifically in private equity, real estate, and lending spaces.
