Job Overview:
The Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing tax-related advice to clients. This role will work closely with clients to understand their financial situations and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for the following —
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and documented
- Preparing and file tax returns, including income, sales, and payroll taxes, in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
- Providing tax-related advice to clients, including tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities
- Researching and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Responding to tax-related inquiries and audits from government agencies
- Staying up-to-date with changes to tax laws and regulations, and inform clients of any changes that may affect them
- Preparing financial statements and other reports as needed
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Tax Accountant role, you should have —
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA license or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
