Position Overview – Senior Software Engineer:
Step into a pivotal role as a Senior Software Engineer within our client's dynamic team, focusing on the innovative Reporting and Data Analytics Platform. Collaborate across diverse functions, lead greenfield projects, and drive the evolution of our cutting-edge reporting capabilities. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape architecture and contribute to AI/ML initiatives.

Compensation: $160,000.00 – $225,000.00 + bonus
Location: New York City – Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote)

Responsibilities as the Software Engineer:

  • Lead the development of a new reporting and analytics platform for a global hedge fund
  • Collaborate with users across departments to understand requirements and implement robust solutions
  • Contribute to the selection and implementation of a metadata management tool
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy features across frontend and backend
  • Support traders and middle office users, ensuring the system's smooth operation in production
  • Play a key role in evolving and maturing the platform's architecture
  • Guide development teams, both internal and external, as a technical lead
  • Troubleshoot complex software issues and provide lasting technical solutions
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend relevant advancements

Qualifications for Software Engineer include:

  • A degree in computer science or a related engineering field
  • Over 10 years of progressive programming experience
  • Familiarity with front office, middle office, and risk management functions
  • Proficiency in distributed systems architecture
  • Expertise in languages like Java, C#, Scala, C++, .Net, gRPC, Restful APIs, and Kafka
  • Strong grasp of relational and no-SQL databases, and financial data domains
  • Track record of delivering mission-critical systems
  • Proficiency in software engineering best practices, including clean coding and test-driven development
  • Desirable knowledge of AI/Machine Learning and cloud service providers
  • Experience in an agile environment
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
