Job Overview:
The Senior IT Project Manager plays a vital role in leading and managing technology initiatives and transformation projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This is a six-month contract position with the possibility for temp-to-hire conversion or an extension for exceptional candidates.
Responsibilities:
In the role of Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following —
- Developing, leading, tracking, and monitoring project activities as per the project plan and timeline, including decision making, risks, issues, deliverables, inter-dependencies, stage gates, scheduling, resourcing, and costing
- Scheduling, preparing, and managing project committees as part of the defined project governance
- Drafting project deliverables based on input from the Program Sponsor, EPMO Program Manager, and PMO teams
- Scheduling workshops, preparing materials, leading sessions, and communicating outcomes with action plans
- Obtaining feedback from key stakeholders on draft deliverables and finalizing them accordingly
- Planning and facilitating regular and ad-hoc meetings with cross-functional teams
- Identifying and addressing problem areas, developing and communicating corrective actions, and driving resolutions
- Providing hands-on support to the team when needed
- Conducting project and RAID log reviews, providing status updates and risk mitigation strategies
- Developing integrated project plans and ensuring on-time and cost-effective completion
- Holding stakeholders accountable for their responsibilities and commitments
- Developing resource forecasts, plans, and processes for capacity and constraint management
Requirements:
To be considered for the Senior IT Project Manager role, you should have —
- 10 years of project management experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on large-scale transformation projects
- 5 years of hands-on experience in technology leadership, architecture, design, or development of enterprise applications and integrations
- Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and management
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project, and Enterprise Project Portfolio Management
- Knowledge of Project Management related SOX controls
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent
- One or more certifications from the Project Management Institute is preferred
