Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant OR Assistant Controller to work directly for the firm’s Chief Financial Officer. The hybrid role will have exposure to all aspects of the firm’s activities, including attending all team meetings and investment committee meetings. You would be responsible for maintaining U.S. GAAP financial statements, preparing investor reports, and coordinating tax compliance.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant OR Assistant Controller, you would be responsible for the following:

  • Preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for SEC filings, including Form 10-Ks, Form 10-Qs, and Form 8-Ks
  • Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly earnings release and related materials
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data and disclosures in all public filings and communications
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external auditors to provide support for financial reporting matters
  • Researching and interpreting accounting guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends and variances, and preparing related reports and presentations
  • Participating in ad hoc projects and initiatives related to financial reporting and analysis

Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Accountant OR Assistant Controller role, you should have 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and reports
  • Experience with investment accounting and reporting preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
