Location: New Jersey and White Plains (flexible)
Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000 + bonus
Job Overview:
As Senior Accountant at a dynamic investment group, you'll have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals and contribute to the accounting and financial reporting of our diversified family office and real estate private equity fund.
In addition to a competitive base salary and performance-based bonus, you'll also enjoy a hybrid work schedule, with the ability to work from home.
Responsibilities:
As the Senior Accountant your tasks include but are not limited to —
- Book monthly journal entries and prepare related account reconciliations for multiple investment entities
- Assist with the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Prepare annual 1099s
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for cash accounts
- Perform a detailed review of expense accounts and certain balance sheet accounts to ensure proper accruals, coding, and accounting and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly cash report
- Prepare quarterly FMV reports
- Analyze financial results and prepare annual financial statements for Management
- Participate in the coordination of annual tax filings with third party tax professionals and distribution of K-1s to Members
- Complete Investor Questionnaires and related documents for all new investments
- Consistently evaluate areas for process improvement and automation
- Assist with special projects and prepare ad hoc analyses, as needed
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Accountant role, you should have —
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-6 years of relevant Accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Real estate investments and/or alternative investment company experience is a plus
- Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must be highly organized, able to prioritize competing demands, detail-oriented, maintain accuracy and self-check work
- Timely communicate status of assigned tasks and special projects
- QuickBooks or similar general ledger experience required
